Larnaca International Airport is a brand new modern building which opened its door to the public in November 2009. Located 4 km Southwest of Larnaca, Cyprus, the new airport provides a relaxing arrival to more than 8 million visitors per year. Along with the arrival, the visitors get the chance to explore some hints of what Cyprus has to offer. Larnaca International Airport is Cyprus' main international gateway and the larger of the other commercial airport in Paphos.
The airport has one primary passenger terminal. Departures are accommodated on the upper level, while arrivals at the Ground level. A second "VIP terminal" also exists, which is used for visiting Heads of State, some private aviation, and for cargo.
This €650m upgrade of the Larnaca airport has 16 jetways (boarding bridges), 67 check in counters, 8 self check-in kiosks, 48 departure gates, 2,450 parking spots and 500 pickup/drop off parking spaces. Free parking is available for the first 20 minutes in all parking areas.

In the main area of the airport, you will find shops with toys and gifts, newsagents, bookshops and mini shops, pharmacies, cosmetics and duty free shops that are open 24/7, and restaurants of different cuisines. Among these services, you could also keep your luggage safe in the special areas of luggage storage, three banks (Popular Bank, Hellenic Bank and Cyprus Bank), a VIP lounge, Bureau de Change, post office, and first aid facilities. The airport also provides lifts and special restrooms for disable people.
Once you exit the plane and enter the airport, you get visual experiences of Cyprus' sites and culture. Right after the passport control and within the whole airport, there are displays of modern and classical art, showing the visitors the artistic culture of the island.
From the airport you can have access to taxis, buses and car rentals that could take you anywhere in Cyprus. The airport is approximately 40 minutes drive from Ayia Napa in a relaxed and smooth motorway drive.
